Renovated and rebranded in 2012, the former Chedi Hotel represents what most visitors to Thailand expect to find – private, quaint, thatched cottages that are set right on the beach in this tropical paradise.
Peaceful and secluded, yet only 20 minutes from Patong, the Surin Phuket Hotel is situated on the beautiful Pansea Bay where the soft, white, sandy beach meets the clear blue waters of the Andaman Sea. The spacious one or two bedroom cottages are perfect for couples celebrating a special occasion, giving the feeling of being in a tropical paradise and with the benefit of a private verandah and sun deck from which to admire the views. When guests want to do more than simply relax, the Surin Phuket Hotel has a range of facilities and services that you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Location:
Situated on Thailand’s popular island of Phuket, the Surin Phuket Hotel is on the secluded Pansea Bay on the west coast of the island. Though a peaceful location guests will be only 30 minutes from Phuket Town, 25 minutes from the airport, and 20 minutes from Patong.
Accommodation:
Although the Chedi is a hotel, the spacious individual thatched cottages give this hotel a resort feel, and allows guests to enjoy their own space and privacy. There are 108 cottages in total, 89 of which are one bedroom and 19 are two bedrooms. Some of the cottages are right on the beach so you’ll be just steps away from the warm sand, while most of the cottages are set within the hillside that rises up from the beach and the bay, giving the most beautiful views.
The cottages may look rustic from the outside but inside is a different story! Each cottage at the Surin Phuket Hotel is luxuriously furnished with elegant handcrafted teak floors. Dark woods around the cottage are not over the top and are complemented by lighter, soft colors and furnishings.
Each cottage features a mini-bar, air conditioning, satellite TV, personal safe, and tea and coffee making facilities. Some cottages also have a Bose sound dock for docking your i-Pod, and all cottages have outdoor spaces for sitting and relaxing. There are also in-room telephones, internet access and 24 hour room service.

Once guests have checked into their own private cottage at the Surin Phuket Hotel you may never want to leave! However, the hotel has an appealing range of facilities and services which may tempt you out from under the thatched roof! For dining there is the authentic Thai cuisine of the Lomtalay Thai restaurant with its unobstructed views of the Andaman Sea and live classical Thai music. For a more casual atmosphere the Beach Restaurant is perfect with its grills, seafoods, and steaks. You might also try the Sunset Café and the Sunset Bar.
The Surin Phuket Hotel has a beautiful swimming pool that’s set slightly raised above the beach and is surrounded by lush palms and plenty of sun beds and parasols. There are two tennis courts, water sports facilities, a library, boutique and gift shop, and a spa with treatment rooms and a plunge pool.

The great thing about staying at the Surin Phuket Hotel is that you’ll enjoy a secluded and peaceful location yet the major attractions of Phuket are all close at hand. Golf lovers will enjoy a stay here as there are five golf courses all within 30 minutes of the hotel. Phuket Town and Patong may not be within walking distance, but the Chedi Hotel provides guests with a daily shuttle bus service between the hotel and both destinations, so you can still easily enjoy these livelier places without having to worry about how to get there!
