The resort is nestled on Mai Khao Beach, which is largely undeveloped except for the resort itself and the airport. Guests have said they could walk many kilometers without seeing another person, showing that this beach is a haven for those seeking solitude and tranquility.
The beach is also a part of Sirinath National Park, which stretches from the airport to the island’s northern tip. At the northern end, you’ll find a mangrove forest with saltwater swamps. Guests are especially fascinated November to February, when turtles come up from the sea to lay their eggs on the beach. Shopping enthusiasts can walk, or take one of the complimentary bicycles to Turtle Village, a Sino-Colonial Village designed with two floors of clothing shops, souvenir stores, and restaurants.
