Open every day from 5pm until midnight, the Suan Lum Night Bazaar is more than simply another market. There is a large concert hall within the Bazaar, where you are likely to catch all manner of performances, from big-name Thai bands and pop groups, international guests, to theatre and various performing arts. Shoppers will discover everything from fruit and flowers, to handcrafted gifts and souvenirs, fine local art, brand name fashion items, and like many other places in Bangkok, the obligatory DVD's and CDs of the latest music and cinema releases. A night here will be a great experience in fine tuning your bargaining skills. Also be sure not to miss the enormous beer garden and food court that serves an immense range of local and international favorites, that has over recent years become a popular gathering spot amongst young Thais. One can't help but smile when seeing young Thai people chatting over a pint of German lager and a dish of sausages and sauerkraut, alongside tourists, tentatively sampling fiery, local food, washed down with a glass of draft Thai beer. Although there are many Bangkok hotels in the immediate area, this is a sprawling metropolis with hotels spread far and wide. For those staying further afield, getting to the market is easy via the fast, efficient Skytrain, simply get off at Lumpini Station and it's 5 minutes to the bazaar.
